- The National Payroll Institute is redeveloping their Payroll Leadership Professional Designation Program. The primary objectives of this redevelopment initiative are to: Integrate insights from the PwC Canada Future of Payroll Education and Skills report,ensuring the PLP program reflects emerging trends, future skill requirements, and theevolving role of payroll professionals, particularly within the leadership space. Align the PLP program with the Payroll Competency Framework to ensure it providesleadership development and advanced competencies in payroll management. This will alsoinvolve contextualizing learning with the competencies within the framework, particularlyDelivers Payroll and Ensures Compliance, that are more present in the Payroll ComplianceProfessional (PCP) designation program. Additionally, the redevelopment will includeenhancements to all competencies, both core and behavioural. Enhance the existing curriculum to include future-focused skills such as integration ofpayroll technology, data analytics, employee engagement strategies, team dynamics,leadership styles and development, as well as compliance and risk managementleadership. Position the PLP designation as a critical credential for payroll leaders, advancing theirleadership capabilities and strategic impact within organizations. Promote lifelong learning and professional development by ensuring the programsupports ongoing career advancement and continuous skill building.
